Zoe Saldana, born June 19th, 1978 was the daughter of Asalia Nazario and Aridio Saldana. She was born in Passaic, New Jersey to Asalia Nazario and Aridio Saldana. Her family was from Queens, New York. After she turned 10 years old, young, she and her family were relocated to the Dominican Republic, where they would live for the next seven years. Zoe began to develop a fascination for dancing while in Dominican Republic. She started her training at ECOS Espacio de Danza Dance Academy, where she studied ballet as well as other types of dance. While her education did give her a chance to express the enthusiastic and energetic youngster, it would also prove to be an excellent preparation to the beginning of her professional acting career. Zoe was able to move with her family to the United States at age 17 which was when she started to show an increasing enthusiasm for dance.
